Innovative, cost-effective and sustainable solutions for startups on the Epson stand at GITEX Africa

GITEX Africa

GITEX Africa

At the opening of GITEX Africa (www.GITEXAfrica.com), the long-awaited technology event, Epson is on hand with a range of high-performance products, specifically designed for small businesses and startups, offering them reliability, mobility and durability to help them gain in productivity and competitiveness.

The business landscape has changed rapidly in recent years due to technological advancements and an increased awareness of the environment. Startups in Morocco and the North African region have been crucial for the growth of the Moroccan economy.

A recent study by Statista on North African startups shows that they are growing. Morocco alone has registered 61,000 startups, while Tunisia had 18,000 new companies and Algeria had 14,000 in 2023. This is encouraging data, since startups are key to growing economies.

Businesses have found that technology products are essential to their operations. They can streamline processes, increase productivity and remain competitive on the market. Businesses are also increasingly concerned with sustainability, in order to reduce their environmental impact.

You can conduct a survey[1] Epson and Averty Market Research and Intelligence partnered to better understand the needs and challenges of new businesses. They also wanted to provide products and services that would address their evolving needs and promote sustainability.

According to the study, a majority of startups (85%), consider technology as crucial for their business. The study revealed that 82% (or a large majority) of these startups regarded energy conservation as being important for their business.

Money savings were also important to these new businesses, and they did so through purchasing savings (68%) and maintenance cost savings (65%), but saving time (85%) was most important. It makes sense, given the amount of effort required to launch a new business and the need to make each moment count.

The results of this survey show a high maturity level among the startups that were surveyed. They had assessed the importance and benefits of technology for their development strategies, as well the value of technology acquisitions to their businesses.

Helping other companies and individuals to achieve their goals through the support of technology, Epson innovates products to enable time saving, energy saving, cost saving and the reduction of a business’s carbon footprint.

Epson is exhibiting an array of products and technologies tailored for startup businesses in Africa. They are also participating in the GITEX Africa Supernova Pitch, and supporting the winning entries by providing Epson technology solutions.

EcoTank Printers

Epson EcoTank offers a print solution that does not require cartridges. Up to 3 years’ worth of ink is included so for businesses conscious of their environmental impact, EcoTanks are a great choice as one ink bottle is equivalent to 79 ink cartridges, saving on plastic waste. The ink is sufficient to print up 14,000 sheets. That means both money and time are saved as you’re not frequently changing cartridges. The setup is simple, refilling is mess free and it’s reliable too, turning out page after page of quality prints. Epson sells over 80 million EcoTanks globally, making it the world’s largest ink tank manufacturer.

Label printing

Epson’s stand at GITEX Africa will offer a range of solutions for in-house labels. By moving labeling in-house, it allows businesses flexibility – being able to produce labels on demand. This also means less waste, since there is no requirement for a minimum order quantity. This also reduces a company’s carbon footprint as labels do not need to be shipped or stored.

Mobile POS Solutions

Mobile point of sales printers are perfect for environments in which receipt printing must be fast, easy and reliable. Mobile point of sale printers are the ideal combination of mobility and reliability. They can be used by a variety of businesses, and are not limited to a specific location. For example, food trucks and market places can operate.

Fabric printers

Epson offers a variety of Direct to Garment solutions that are ideal for printing on t-shirts and other fabrics, such as polo shirts or tote bags. This allows for faster and higher-quality printing, reduced intervention, as well as the ability to create your designs.

Compact Photo Printer

SureLab SL D1000 Compact Photo Printers are duplex capable for flexible production in commercial applications. The series was developed for photo shops and professional photographers, as well as businesses who need to offer a variety of products including photo books, calendars, and cards. Businesses that could benefit include: photography retail, event and photo box, stationery, hotels, cafés, bars and restaurants.

WorkForce Enterprise AM-C4000

Epson’s new Workforce Enterprise AM Series inkjets are about efficient, sustainable, and heat-free printing. Leveraging Epson’s Heat-Free technology, the new Workforce Enterprise AM-Series completes Epson’s business print portfolio. Epson’s business inkjet range is now complemented by a new range of printers that can print at speeds between 40-60ppm.

The products are lightweight and compact, which helps to reduce the amount of resources that need to be used in production and shipping. High yield cartridges reduce material consumption, shipping, end-of-use management, and storage of consumables. They also reduce downtime due to routine maintenance.

When compared to laser printing, inkjet business printing can save as much as 90% on energy.
