Simpsons Printing receives SBA Legacy Award | News

RAPID CITY S.D. – Simpsons Printing of Rapid City has been selected as the recipient of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 70th anniversary legacy award.

The SBA’s 70th Anniversary is celebrated with this award. District offices chose the recipients directly as good examples of small businesses who have achieved success over the years.

Jonathan Simpson, Owner of Simpsons Printing said, “Being a third-generation business and trying to develop it over the years and be involved in the community – we received the award and we’re just very grateful and thankful to even be in consideration for it, so winning it is quite humbling.”

Simpsons Printing was founded in 1965, and is still a family business.

The SBA stated that Simpsons Printing is one of the few small businesses who survived the 1972 flood. It also noted that it was chosen in part due to its success and growth over the next decades.

Daniel Simpson, Jonathan’s Father and President of Simpson’s Printing said, “We started out small. This is a process of – you know – many many decades of hard work and a lot of ups and downs.”

He said that treating customers and employees as if they were family members is part of his process.

Simpson’s Printing, a South Dakota-based business, was selected from 68 other businesses nationwide.
