DTF printing, which is used often in T-shirt printing, has gained popularity in the apparel and textile industry. DTF printing allows the design to be printed on a single transfer film. Then, hot-melt powder is added to the printed film. Finally, the film is dried and heated to form a transferable ink layer. To complete the product, the ink layer is transferred onto the fabric using a heat press.
The Mimaki TxF150-75 is an inkjet printer with a maximum printing width of 80 cm (31.5”) for producing DTF print transfer sheets. PHT50 heat-transfer pigment ink for DTF applications is available in five colors (CMYK or white). The printer is due to be certified ECO PASSPORT by March 2023. This is necessary for compliance with the international safety standard OEKOTEX. Mimaki’s degassing ink has been developed to address the problems of ink ejection and ink clogging in DTF printers.
