Keypoint Intelligence has announced the availability of its 2021-2026 Worldwide Digital Textile Outlook. The forecast includes devices, inks, and applications used in wide format roll-to-roll textile printers geared to fabric print manufacturing for garment/sportswear, home décor fabrics, and industrial textiles.

Keypoint Intelligence has found that digital textile printing companies should be expecting to grow in e-commerce software. This software further enables them easily to accommodate customization, consumer trends, and to move volumes to higher speeds device segments. The production will move closer to the consumption with high-volumes gradually shifting from offshore to near-shore. Retailers and brands will demand sustainable and ethical solutions from their suppliers, further strengthening digital inkjet’s ability to reduce waste.

Johnny Shell, Keypoint Intelligence Principal analyst, stated that “Actual machine placings in 2021 rose 48% more than 2020 placements, which was well beyond what we expected.” “In addition, the 2021 digital print volume grew by 25%.”

The data was collected through primary and secondary field interviews with vendors of equipment, inks printheads, and materials as well as end user interviews. On-site visits were also made to production sites. For comparison, this forecast also includes 2020 and 2019 actual data due to COVID-19’s 2020 impact. Soft signage data is also included in our Wide Format Printing Forecast.

The Worldwide Digital Textile Forecast report can be purchased separately or as part of a subscription to other research provided by Keypoint Intelligence’s Textile & Apparel Printing Advisory Service. Click here to find out more about the report.

Johnny will be speaking at this week’s Impressions Expo in Atlantic City, March 23-24, to discuss the state of digital textile and direct-to garment markets.
